Moso Bamboo is considered Earth Friendly because of its abundance in nature, its ability to grow rapidly with very little water, and is not a food source of any endangered species. We put the sticker on the products that are Earth Friendly to let you know that by purchasing the item you are not harming the world you live on. Bamboo is a woody perennial (lives more than 2 years) evergreen (lives and grows all year round). It is sometimes classified as a grass. Giant Bamboo, particulary Moso Bamboo is the largest of all the grass and bamboo family. Growth rate is up to 2’ per day, making it the fastest growing plant on earth, and is highly dependant on local soil and climate conditions. It is traditionally used in gardens, as a building material and a food source for many in Asia. Moso bamboo is NOT a food source for the Giant Panda.
